Completely fill out and then review the Study Guide on the Bill Rights and additional amendments to the Constitution. Your basic guide will be Chapters 6 and 7 in your textbook.

Be prepared for a test review on Monday and the test on Tuesday:)

Chapter 7-The Living Constitution/Section 2-”A Flexible Framework”-Take notes and complete the assessment on p. 163.

Chapter 7-The Living Constitution/Section 1-”Changing the Law of the Land”-Take notes and complete the assessment on p. 157.

Read Chapter 6 Section 1-”Adding the Bill of Rights” and Section 2 “Protections in the Bill of Rights. Be sure to capture the main point and two important details from each subsection, (indicated by the large font red and blue headings.) Read the essay on “Accused Man fights for Rights” and answer the question at the bottom of the essay.

Read “Students Rights” on pp. 164-165 and answer the four questions at the end of the essay.

Use the Guided Reading Lesson on the Constitution to complete the graphic organizer on the 3 Branches of Government.

Create a copy of the Venn Diagram on p. 102. Include color. Be sure to list all of the powers that are in each part of the diagram. Read about Federalism on p. 104 and write a paraphrase of this on the back of the Venn diagram.

Classwork-finish for homework

Take an large piece of paper and draw the system of Checks and Balances exactly as it is depicted on p. 104 in your textbook. Use a separate color for the arrows coming from each branch of government. Be sure to include all checks and ensure that the arrows begin and end in the right place. Please put your name, hour and date in the upper right hand corner on the front of the paper as usual.

Take notes and complete the assessment on Chapter 5/Section 1-”Creating the Constitution.”
